Maryland Field Hockey Primary Marketing Contact

After working closely with our Football and Baseball programs, I was given the opportunity to lead the marketing efforts for the Maryland Field Hockey. While it has been difficult to navigate at first due to the lack of games, we have been able to find new ways to keep our program engaged with our fans. With the Field Hockey schedule being recently announced, I am looking forward to working through the upcoming season to further achieve the goals set by the coaching staff.

Maryland Women’s Lacrosse Primary Marketing Contact

I have been recently asked to take the role as the Primary Marketing Contact for Women’s Lacrosse. I have been working closely with the coaching staff, as well as the support staff in order to make sure we can provide a similar experience despite not having fans in our stadium. We are also working to continue to promote one of the best program’s in the country to ensure their future success when we do return back to a normal schedule.

Maryland Football Secondary Marketing Contact

During the 2019 Football Season, I had the opportunity to work along side the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing Strategy and Fan Experience. In this position, I had the opportunity to serve as the head intern, conduct market research, assist and create promotional plans, and execute game day promotional activities. This role built off of my previous rule with Maryland Baseball, but my role was expanded. Along with being able to create promotions such as the #LOCKedInStudent Away Trip, I was allowed to sit in on meetings with the full-time staff to get an even better understanding how a successful marketing department functions. Additionally, they allowed me to create more content, including graphics that were displayed on the TVs in the stadium.

Maryland Baseball Secondary Marketing Contact

For the 2019 Baseball Season, I was able to work as a Secondary Marketing Contact for the first time. During this time, I was able to create and execute promotions, call games, create social media posts, and conduct market research for the program. One of the promotions I created was called “Wings for Dings” which helped us activate one of our corporate sonships with Wings Over. For this promotion, every time Maryland hit a home run, three fans in attendance would receive a free meal at Wings Over. Additionally, I was allowed to create Maryland themed bingo cards, which met the brand guidelines, that would be used for every game on Sunday for our Sunday Bingo promotion.

Athletics Marketing Intern

This is where I got my feet wet in the world of athletics. As a sophomore, I worked 6-8 games a month and learned about what makes a successful marketing department by doing so. During each game, I would be responsible for running a specific promotion and ensuring all those involved with it had a positive experience. This meant I was constantly interacting with the fans as well as communicating any major concerns back to my supervisor. Additionally, I would have weekly office hours where I would assist full-time staff in conducting marketing research, prepping for a game and creating new promotional ideas for all of our sports.
